Knight and Day

Well, the hubby decided to lay low this year on the 4th of July so we went out for lunch and then decided to see a movie. He let me decide and I chose Knight and Day as I didn't think it would be as crowded as some of the other movies that came out last weekend. We were the first ones in the theater and as the start time approached the theater became surprisingly more and more packed. The movie had gotten great reviews from what I had read but disappointed at the box office the prior few weeks. From the moment I saw the trailer for the movie I had wanted to see it even though I'm not a huge Tom Cruise fan. I think it's actually casting TC that hurt this film. Ever since he jumped up and down on Oprah's couch gushing about Katie Holmes and pushing his scientology theories I think he has disconnected from his audience. Despite all of that, I thought the movie looked great. And it was. The chemistry between Cruise and Diaz was good but I think Diaz was the superior actor. She did what she does best by being cute and funny. There was a lot of action mixed with comedy which is really what I'm leaning towards these days. The only problem that I had with the movie was how much of the humorous moments I had already seen in the previews. It didn't disappoint me and made my Independence Day a happy one.

This is one of those movies I have zero desire to see. I'm not a fan of either of them.
